This hand-painted jewelry is made from 26 gauge copper sheet. The shape is cut, hammered, shaped, sanded and cleaned. At this point the glass powder (enamel) is sifted on to the back of the piece in a light coat and fired with a torch, twice. The piece is then cleaned again and enamel is sifted onto the front of the piece, fire, & repeat at least twice. The outline for the design, which originates from either an original photograph or a sketch, is printed onto a transfer medium specifically made for ceramic and glass, once the design has been transferred to the piece it has to dry overnight and at that point I fire up the torch again to burn off the transfer medium leaving only the outline of the design. Once the piece has cooled I can paint the design, when the paint has dried I either seal with clear acrylic or fire it one more time – this all depends on the type of paints used.

A small glass pearl is added to the bottom of the piece, the earrings measure 1.5" from ear wire to bottom of pearl.

This pair is on a silver plated ear wire, you may choose a different wire from the drop down menu below.
